Pray for Godly Vision
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)
Frances Jane van Alstyne (née Crosby; March 24, 1820 – February 12, 1915), more commonly known as Fanny Crosby, was an American mission worker, poet, lyricist, and composer.
She was a prolific hymnist, writing more than 8,000 hymns and gospel songs, with more than 100 million copies printed.
She is also known for her teaching and her rescue mission work.
By the end of the 19th century, she was a household name.
Fanny Crosby became blind at six weeks of age,
Yet, she had vision.
A reporter asked Fanny Crosby,
“Is there anything worse than losing your sight?”
“Yes,” she said, “It is to have sight but no vision.”
I ask you beloved, do you have a vision for your life at the threshold of a new year?
On New Year’s Day, I review the goals for my life.
These are spiritual, relational, intellectual, physical, and financial goals.
I pray over these and ask for God’s will to be done in each one.
I hold them in an open hand and ask that God would give me wisdom as to the direction He wants for my life.
I don’t want to be a man without vision.
I don’t want you to be one, either.
Begin to think about some goals you would like for your life.
Pray and seek the Lord’s face as you ponder the future.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psalm 86:11 (KJV)
The psalmist’s prayer that preceded it is, “Teach me thy way, O LORD, ” which is, I think, the solution for a wandering, divided heart.
The first thing that the apostle Paul said after he was converted was, “ … Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? …” (Acts 9:6).
The psalmist had the answer, “Teach me thy way, O LORD.” And the Lord has promised to teach His children, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye” (Psalms. 32:8).
“I will walk in thy truth” should be our response, which means we should walk in the light that the Word of God gives us.
Then He will receive the praise of our whole heart.
When our heart is united and devoted to Him, the greater our praise will be.
12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. Psalm 119:12 (KJV)
64 The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
Psalm 119:64 (KJV)
Thank you Father for your precious Word!
62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments. Psalm 119:62 (KJV)
Beloved, have you ever thanked God in the middle of the night for His Word?
Well, wake up tonight and do it!!
Praise His Holy name!
We pray everyone has a blessed New Year!!
Thank you for allowing me to share God’s Word with you this past year.
Linda and I love you ALL!!
God Bless

Life After Death
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:19-21 (KJV)
The only thing we know about life after death is what the Bible reveals and what Jesus says.
Now one thing that we know is that death is not extinction.
Death is not annihilation. – There is life after death.
“How do you know, preacher?”
Because Jesus teaches it.
Your soul will be in existence somewhere when the sun, the moon, and the stars have turned to cinders.
Somebody said there is a tombstone and engraved on that tombstone are these words, “Pause, stranger, as you pass me by. As you are now, so once was I. As I am now, so you will be. Prepare to die and follow me.” And someone wrote on that tombstone underneath it, “To follow you, I am not content until I know which way you went.”
Don’t let life pass you by before you consider these things—how your life today will affect the life to come.
I ask each of you, what have you learned about life after death?
How does knowing about the life to come change the way you live today?
Write down a list of different things you treasure.
Take a moment to consider which of these will fade and which are treasures being stored up in Heaven.
Thank you for allowing us to share God’s Word with you.
Linda and I love you ALL!!
God Bless
