In 2022, Calvary Baptist Church celebrated 72 years of existence. I count it a privilege to have served 24 of those years as pastor. As I look at pictures we have put together of our church family, I see more than just an accumulation of photographs. I see a family album.
I see faces of my brothers and sisters, and all of the children who make up our wonderful church family. We see an individual and family commitment to Calvary Baptist Church and to the God whom we worship and serve. These are folk with whom I am proud to be associated. I have rejoiced with them at the birth of their children and sorrowed with them at the death of their loved ones. We have shared so much in the years which I have been their pastor.
The success, growth, and service of Calvary Baptist Church continues to be a cooperative effort, each person being guided by the Holy Spirit of God in performing their specific ministries.
God desires that we labor together for the common goal of reaching souls for Him. “For we are laborers together with God: ye are of God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. ” I Corinthians 3:9
May His precious Spirit continue to guide each of us and empower us to labor on together until we reach that home where families never part.
