The ministry of Calvary Independent Baptist Church is not “programs” but people. The primary method of meeting needs is to share honestly and clearly the Word of God with the people.

The Word of God is God’s method of saving, cleansing, warning, blessing, comforting, and strengthening. The Bible is the absolute and final authority in faith and practice. The church exists only to obey and fulfill What God has said in His Word.

The Word of God indicates that the ministry of the Church is threefold. Calvary Independent Baptist Church desires to fulfill this threefold directive through:

  1. Evangelism
The most valuable and precious thing in the entire universe is the soul of a man. The value of a soul is revealed in the fact that God sent His Son to suffer and die for the sins of every person (John 3:16). God has commanded that the Gospel should be preached to every creature. Calvary Independent Baptist Church desires to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) through the following ministries
    • Evangelistic Preaching
The preaching is designed to share with people what God’s Word says about sin and their need of a Savior. The Word of God clearly teaches that man is saved by the grace of God through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross of Calvary and not by man’s works, church membership, or baptism (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:18-19).
    • Personal Witnessing and Outreach
The members are encouraged to be sensitive to those who are lost around them and to give forth a clear gospel witness at every opportunity. God commands every believer to share with others what Christ has done in their life.
    • MissionsiStock_000003449363Small
Calvary Independent Baptist Church places a strong emphasis on missions. We are blessed to be the “sending church” of 9 missionary families. We currently support 41 missionaries in a monthly basis, and we enjoy supporting special projects or needs of our missionary families throughout the year. Our annual missions conference is a time when our people are challenged to give through “Faith Promise”. Throughout the year we continually pray for our missionaries by highlighting specific families each week.
    • Children’s church
A specially designed service is provided to put the Gospel on a level that will not only be understandable, but also exciting for children. It is also our desire to instill respect for authority, Biblical values, character traits, a servant’s heart, and a knowledge of Christ in our children.
    • Bus Ministry
Our church has a very active bus and van ministry. Transportation is provided for children and adults who have a desire to come to church but do not have the means. The bus ministry has many “special days” which are greatly enjoyed by the children.
    • Revivals
These special services are a time for stiffing up the indifferent, reclaiming the backslidden, and winning the lost.
  2. Education
The Great Commission not only commands us to win the lost, but to “teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you”. The responsibility of the church is to teach God’s children to live productive and godly lives. Our desire is to offer practical teaching that will strengthen our walk with Christ, protect our homes, and equip us to serve others.iStock_000003347692XSmall
    • Sunday School Classes
We have Sunday School classes for all ages from nursery to adults. These classes are designed to meet special needs, and to challenge believers to study God’s Word more carefully. Sunday School is a wonderful opportunity to develop godly friendships.
    • Calvary Christian School
For over 30 years the church has conducted a school ministry from K4-12th grade. The children are taught by highly qualified, spiritual teachers and enjoy a low student-teacher ratio. CCS places a strong emphasis on patriotism, discipline, and moral values. CCS has produced many missionaries, teachers, nurses, preachers, homemakers, and Christian business men and women.
    • Youth Group
This ministry is for discipling young people so that they can stand for Christ. The youth group not only meets spiritual needs through a ProTeens program, but also social needs through activities known as “Friday Night Alive!” We have had many of our teens continue on to Bible colleges, as well as to other schools, and have gone into full-time service for Christ.
    • College and Career
Calvary is blessed with many young adults. Some are going to school and many have entered the fulltime job market. The class is designed to meet the specific neds of these young adults Biblically, as well as providing fellowship socially.
    • Children’s Ministry
Along with Sunday School and Children’s Church, plans are being made for a special ministry on Wednesday nights designed for children. The Master’s Club is an exciting, practical program in which children are taught Biblical principles in a way they will remember and enjoy. The children earn special awards, ribbons, and badges. This program is designed for children 4 years old through the 6th grade
    • Bible, Family, and Mission Conference
These special meetings are held on a regular basis to exhort and challenge God’s people to give special attention to these ministries and areas of their Christian lives.
    • Expositional Teaching
Many services are dedicated to a verse-by-verse, through study of the Word of God. Scriptures are taken in context and compared with other Scriptures. Our desire is to teach the whole counsel of God’s Word.
  3. Edification
    • Prayer Meeting
Each week we set aside a special night and time and we meet, share prayer requests, and then pray for one another. Members are exhorted to pray daily for the needs of other members, friends, and families.
    • Fellowship
Children of God need to enjoy the fellowship of those who share like values because of their very special relationship in Jesus Christ. There are many individual and church-wide fellowships that bring the people closer together.
    • Personal Ministry
We place a strong emphasis upon our responsibility to love and minister to one another. We stress that we should unselfishly care for the needs of each other whether they be physical, spiritual, or emotional. In John 13:35 Christ states, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love for one another.”

Calvary Independent Baptist Church exists in order to minister to the needs of people. Each of these ministries is designed to bring people into a more intimate and fruitful relationship with Jesus Christ. We invite you to come see for yourself. We are “A Family Church That Cares.”
